In the near future, disinfectants such as 84 disinfectants, 75% alcohol, and chlorine-containing disinfectants must be indispensable in every family. Chlorine-containing disinfectants mainly act on the surface of objects and disinfect the external environment. 75% alcohol is used for skin disinfection. It is important to remind that parents should not be careless about storage after using spray bottles.

Especially families with children,

Be sure to warn children: Do not move, do not take! !

The reporter learned that on February 9th, the emergency room of Dalian Children's Hospital received three consecutive children who mistakenly swallowed disinfectant as a drink within one day.

1. Parents put the 84 disinfectant stock solution, which looks similar to the big bucket of milk, in the bathroom. The 8-year-old child did not pay attention and mistakenly took it as milk.

2. There is also a 10-year-old child. The parent put sodium hypochlorite disinfectant in an empty beverage bottle, but what he did not notice is that this beverage is what the child likes to drink, and there is no label, which causes the child to take it by mistake.

3. There is also a child who is younger than the first two. The parent put 75% alcohol into the drink bottle, causing the 3-year-old child to mistake it for a drink.

According to the doctor who received the treatment: Fortunately, the three children mistakenly took a small amount of disinfectant at that time. The parents found out in time and sent them to the doctor. After emergency treatment such as vomiting, the three children are in stable condition and have been discharged from the hospital.

Parents must take precautions on how to keep these supplies in the family and how to take good care of their babies without misunderstanding:

1. Don't put these items in beverage bottles: Children are often curious about the contents of bottles and cans. In early childhood, many children especially like to use their mouths to "know" things, and beverages are very attractive to children. Therefore, do not use beverage bottles as disinfectants at home.

2. Keep out of children's reach: Not only disinfectants, but also household medicines, pesticides, anti-viruses and other items, must be out of children's reach, especially for young babies.

3. The sub-bottling must be marked: the sub-bottling of the disinfectant must be marked to prevent accidental ingestion.

What should I do if I find that my child has misunderstood?

The doctor emphasized:

1. Keep calm: parents must first keep calm and don't blame their children;

2. Understand the dose by mistake and induce vomiting in time: It is necessary to understand the dose that the child took by mistake, and the child who can cooperate to induce vomiting immediately.

3. Prepare milk and information on products that have been taken by mistake: Go to the hospital in time. Parents should prepare milk first and follow the doctor’s advice to protect the esophagus and gastric mucosa when needed and minimize damage; parents should try their best to understand pesticides, drugs, etc. The name, type, or package of the mis-swallowed article, so that the medical staff can understand the attribute of the mis-swallowed article in time and treat the symptoms accordingly.
